Role track

Become a static timing analysis engineer

STA engineers decide whether a chip is fast enough to ship. They write and review constraints, read timing reports across every corner, and drive the fixes that close timing. This track builds that skill from the flip-flop up.

What a sta engineer does

  • Writes and reviews SDC constraints
  • Analyses timing across modes and corners
  • Finds the root cause of setup and hold failures
  • Signs off timing and drives ECOs

A project for your resume

Write the SDC for a small design, run OpenSTA across a slow and a fast corner, and close setup and hold. Explain each fix the way an interviewer will ask.
